SO FAR it has been his stable star’s “Kryptonite” by trainer Craig Hayes is planning another trip to the mainland with Scooterwillrev.

Tasmania’s premier pacer of his crop, the son of Somebeachsomewhere boasts the impressive record of 20 wins and three placings from 24 starts in his home state.

When taken to Victoria, however, Scooterwillrev has enjoyed no luck, with his seven outings netting just two placings!

“Things have never gone his way when we’ve headed to Victoria, so hopefully this time will be different,” Hayes said.

“I’ll be taking him over for the Breeders’ Crown race and will see if he can pick up an M0 while we are there.

“I couldn’t be happier with the way he is going, now he just needs an ounce of good fortune for a change.”

Winner of his last four starts, Scooterwillrev was in a class of his own in Launceston when partnered by regular reinsman Rohan Hadley.

Overcoming a 20-metre back mark, the gelding completed a 10-metre win from Jaccka Len, with Rocknrollhighlight two metres away third in 2:04.3 over 2698 metres.

“He took a couple of starts to hit his straps this time in, but he is back to his best,” Hayes said.

“He’s won his last four quite easily and is ready to go over to Victoria to compete against some of the better ones.

“When he gets back home he will go straight to the paddock and then I will get him ready for the feature races around the Christmas/New Year period.”
