RECENT Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series champion Jilliby Kung Fu faces a tough task at Tabcorp Park Melton tonight night.

Kept from since his Group One triumph four weeks ago, the son of Four Starzzz Shark has drawn the inside of the second row in The Graduate.

Adding to the difficulty of the mission ahead, Jilliby Kung Fu’s main dangers have drawn the front line or to his outside on the back line.

Trainer Marg Lee is using the feature to prime Jilliby Kung Fu for the upcoming Australasian Breeders’ Crown.

“Drawing where he has makes it pretty tough,” Lee said. “Luck is what we will be hoping for from there.

“He had bit of a let up after the Sires’, so this race will keep him in touch and be a good hit out before the Breeders’ Crown.

“He is feeling and looking terrific, but will need some luck from the draw.”

Citing Our Little General as the one to beat, Lee is also weary of the Dean Braun-trained stablemates Shartin and Stars Align.

A noted quick beginner, Our Little General has drawn to lead from four, while Shartin and Stars Align will start from the outside of the back row.

“Not only does he need to find a way to get off the pegs, the ones to beat have fared better,” Lee said. “Stars Align is the form horse, while Our Little General should find the front from there.”
