AFL players Josh Jenkins and Michael Hurley have signed contract extensions – well, sort of!
The pair of harness racing enthusiasts have agreed to be ambassadors for Thursday night’s Kilmore Pacing Cup.
As a result of the Group Two’s shift on the racing calendar it also doubles as the launch of the 2018/19 Country Cup Circuit.
Set to be trackside for the time-honoured event, Jenkins and Hurley will sign Trots Country footballs, mingle with fans and run kicking competitions.
“What better way to start the AFL Grand Final weekend than to get trackside at Kilmore for what looks like being a ripper night of harness racing,” Jenkins said.
“Hurls and I are looking forward to it and it’d be great to see heaps of people there enjoying themselves, trying to win some great prizes and having a kick of the footy.”
Kilmore is offering free entry for anyone who wears their AFL footy jumper and is giving away a $500 TAB betting voucher on every race via a racebook competition.
All patrons will get a free drink voucher and a racebook, which contains their ticket for the $500 per race voucher.
There will be plenty of other giveaways on the night, as well as a stellar metro-class program.
