IT WAS a loud Saturday night exclamation point after the stakes portion of Yonkers Raceway Triple Crown program.

Former Australian pacer Theartofconfusion rewrote the record books to the tune of 1:49.3 – Yonkers’ first sub-1:50 mile.

From post position four in the $30,000 Pace, Theartofconfusion gave nothing else a shot.

The confirmed off-the-pace number this night powered through intervals of 26.2, 54.2 and 1:21.3.

Theartofconfusion increased his lead from two-and-a-half lengths at the half to five lengths at the three-quarters before extending it to six lengths at the final turn.

Never fully challenged, Theartofconfusion scored by an obscene 10 lengths, to take two-fifths of a second off the previous Westchester record jointly held by The Real One (2016), Tequila Monday (last June) and American History, just a week ago Saturday).

Mach N Cheese was second as the 4-5 favourite, while Fine Diamond and Elwell rounded out the gimmick finishers.

For second choice Theartofconfusion, a nine-year-old by Riverboat King co-owned by trainer Gilberto Garcia-Herrera and Barbara and Donald Arnstine, it was his sixth win in 25 seasonal starts.
