FORMER Australian Chris Scicluna will complete his homecoming at Cranbourne tonight.
Among Victoria’s leading concession drivers in his youth, Scicluna moved to the United States 15 years ago, where he has forged a successful career.
In 2018 the New Jersey-based horseman has cut a regular path to the winners’ circle with 32 wins.
Back in the southern hemisphere for a working holiday, Scicluna is representing American clients who are looking to purchase pacers “which are on their mark in Australia.”
“I’m looking for anything up to 10 pacers to take back,” Scicluna said. “Obviously they have to suit my stable’s clients’ needs, but I’m happy to cast a wide net to find the right ones.”
As for his ‘homecoming’, Scicluna will be in the sulky at Cranbourne tonight, having picked up the drive behind the Kevin Chisholm-trained Last Flight In.
Racing in handy form, with a win and two placings from his last five starts, Last Flight In is ironically by Panspacificflight!
The mare has drawn barrier five, which has seen her listed at $6.50, with Most Happy Cullen the $2.50 pubic elect in the six-runner field.
“She has been racing consistently, so hopefully I can get her to the wire from the five hole tonight,” Scicluna said.
