AFTER a two-year absence from the feature, Berisari is back to reclaim what is rightfully hers.

Winner of the 2015 Angelique Club Cup, Berisari missed the following two editions, but is primed for Friday night’s running at Tabcorp Park Melton.

The Emma Stewart-trained mare has won three of her last four starts, including last weekend’s The Make Mine Cullen at the same venue.

Berisari’s defeat was a second behind her star stablemate, Shadow Sax, in a Group Two.

As for her recent win and her pending assignment, the events are part of Victoria’s popular Mares’ Triple Crown.

“She is in great form and I couldn’t be happier with the way she is feeling going into this,” Stewart said. “She has been working the place down since winning last Saturday night and will take a lot of beating.

“That said, the draw has made it tough on her, but as long as she gets and even crack at them, she will be right in the finish.”

Stewart’s concerns stem from Berisari receiving barrier 11 – the middle of the second row.

The seven-year-old, which is by Stewart’s former dour stayer Safari, drew the back line as part of the preferential draw.

“Given the conditions she was always going to be out there, but right in the middle of the second line makes it difficult,” Stewart said. “She will need a bit of luck to settle into a good position.”

Following her Group Three engagement Berisari will be kept “ticking along” for next week’s Group One Queen Of The Pacific.
