FOR those who believe Chicago Bull was disappointing in defeat think again.
Runner-up behind his stablemate Whozideawasthis when second-up from a career threatening injury, Chicago Bull’s effort has brought out the critics.
Some believe the son of Bettors Delight was lacklustre while others have focused on Chicago Bull’s gait.
Any fault in the millionaire pacer is simply misplaced according to trainer Gary Hall.
“They’ve run the last quarter in 27 seconds and the winner had a cold sit on him,” Hall said. “He is very fast with a sit like he had and I doubt there is any horse which could hold him out with such a run.
“Chicago Bull has come back as good as could be expected. There is talk he is not same in his gait but I can’t see it.”
Chicago Bull will be back at Gloucester Park tonight with Hall positive the gelding can return to the winners’ circle.
Drawn to settle forward from barrier four, Chicago Bull is a $1.60 favourite with TAB Fixed Odds, with Vultan Tin regarded as the main threat at $3.60 from gate two.
The betting markets are wrong, however, according to Hall.
“He is feeling great and will be better again this week,” Hall said. “His price is about right, but Whozideawasthis shouldn’t be at $13.
“Whozideawasthis is flying at the moment and it wouldn’t surprise me if he won again given the small field the run he is likely to get.”
