LOOKING FOR A BIG DAY: Josh Gallagher.

The driving career of popular Menangle horseman, Josh Gallagher continues to go from strength to strength, aided by his association with the prominent stables of KerryAnn Morris and Kevin Pizzuto.

Gallagher drove a career best seven winners in the space of four days, kicking off with a winning treble at Newcastle on November 16.

He drove Dream The Dream to win for Kevin Pizzuto, Eagle Uno for Barry Miller and Petes Naholo for KerryAnn.

“Yeah that was a pretty good day for me. I drove the three winners and ran second on three others. Clearly it was one of my best days in the gig”, said Josh.

The following day Gallagher was at home at Tabcorp Park Menangle where he landed a winning double aboard Agent Maori and Super Fast Pat,  horses trained by KerryAnn.

He then repeated that effort two days later with a double at Penrith, driving Mammals Magic for Ashleigh Delosa and Triple Vic for Kevin Pizzuto.

“I have been very fortunate to be given opportunities to drive nice horses for some of the best stables in Sydney. Still having a concession claim helps a lot, giving trainers the benefit to place their horses in more winnable races”, said Gallagher.

“I work for the Morris family and they are very supportive of me and now that Kez is having a break, I am driving more often as they have a lot of horses racing”.

“Kev Pizzuto also has put a lot of faith in me to drive some of his nice horses. It certainly helps in enhancing my profile and then other trainers are happy to put me on”.

Gallagher is back at Newcastle tonight to drive five horses, the venue proving to be a happy hunting ground for him.

“I do have a handy book of drives tonight but I think Pembrooks Passion which is trained by KerryAnn appears to be my best chance of winning. He is a tough horse and likes to race forward so I will be charging out hard from his gate eight draw”.

“He has been racing in tougher races at Bathurst so I think he should appreciate the drop in class here”.

“I am also keen on Kev’s two year old Dream The Dream who impressed me when she won last start while my other three drives all have claims”.
