HIGHLY promising filly Fremarkspoetry maintained her perfect record at Tabcorp Park Melton last night.

Triumphant in the Home Grown Classic, the daughter of Majestic Son is unbeaten from three outings for trainer Courtney Slater.

Thrilled with the trotter’s preparation, Slater will give Fremarkspoetry a short break before taking aim at several majors in the New Year.

Fremarkspoetry’s likely targets include the Need For Speed, New South Wales and Victoria Oaks and the Vicbred Super Series.

“I couldn’t be happier with the way she has gone,” Slater said. “Mark has done all the work with her and has brought her along steadily and she hasn’t stopped improving.

“She will enjoy the Festive Season now with a short break and then get going again.

“She is eligible for most of the big races later in the season so I will see how she is going at the time.”

Driven by Glen Craven, Fremarkspoetry began quickly to find the lead from barrier four with the remainder of the Group One becoming a formality.

Never seriously challenged, Fremarkspoetry completed a 10-metre win from Peregrine Phoenix, with Zephiane 18-and-a-half metres away third in a quick 1:56.8 over 1720 metres.

“I was as confident as you can be with a three-year-old trotter going into the race, but once she got to the front I didn’t think they would run her down,” Slater said.

“She hit the line really well and Glen said she had plenty up her sleeve.

“Hopefully after a nice little freshen-up she can keep improving and go on with the job.”
