MY SWEETCHILLIPILLY
Classy Philly to break season’s drought
March 13, 2018 Paul Courts

HAVING enjoyed little to no luck this campaign, classy youngster My Sweetchilliphilly has a prime opportunity to return to the feature winners’ list at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Friday night.
Successful in five of her six outings last term, My Sweetchilliphilly is yet to score from four starts for the season, but that is about to change according to co-trainer Shane Tritton.
With the daughter of Betterthancheddar to begin from barrier two in the Golden Easter Egg, Tritton is positive My Sweetchilliphilly can lead throughout the 1609-metre sprint.
“She has been racing well, but just hasn’t had much go her way so far,” Tritton said. “With an ounce of luck here and there, her form would read a lot different.
“Last start she finished second, beaten a metre-and-a-half, behind the best three-year-old colt in Australia.
“Her work has been terrific since she raced a fortnight ago and she’ll take a lot of running down.”
When searching for the biggest threat to the filly, Tritton didn’t have to look far, stating My Sweetchilliphilly’s stablemate Ideal Pleasure “will give plenty of cheek”.
Kept fresh since her unplaced performance in last month’s New South Wales Oaks, Ideal Pleasure has drawn six.
Tritton’s co-trainer wife, Lauren, will partner My Sweetchilliphilly, with Lachie Manzelmann to take the reins behind Ideal Pleasure.
“I have a lot of time for Ideal Pleasure and she will go pretty close,” Tritton said. “My Sweetchilliphilly does get an advantage over her from the draw.”
