REINSWOMAN of the moment Kima Frenning is breathing a sigh of relief following her appeal against suspension today.
Frenning was handed a two-week sentence by the stewards under Rule R163(1)(a)(iii) at Bendigo on September 7.
Driving on a stay during the meantime, Frenning appeared before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board this afternoon.
Although her appeal was dismissed, Frenning’s has been granted a continuance of her stay allowing her to drive in Saturday night’s Victoria Cup at Tabcorp Park Melton.
“I’m very happy they’re letting me drive,” Frenning said.
With the option of partnering either of the David Aiken-trained runners, Im The Boss and Wrappers Delight, Frenning chose the latter despite his outside of the front row draw.
Im The Boss, which will be driven by Greg Sugars, will begin from gate four.
Frenning drove Im The Boss to win the Kilmore Cup a fortnight ago when the gelding was first-up from a three-month spell.
She then combined with Wrappers Delight to capture last weekend’s Smoken Up Sprint.
“Was very tough decision to make,” Frenning said. “I love both horses.
“Im The Boss has done so much for me but at the end of the day I’ve got to pick one, and after giving it a lot of consideration, I decided to drive Wrappers Delight.
“He’s got a tough draw and there are a lot of good horses in the race, but in saying that, the way he feels and is racing, I’m confident in him.”
