A PAIR of concession drivers are in hospital after being involved in a serious car accident last night.

Victorian reinsman Cody Crossland and local Bronte Miller were with three others while towing a float back to Ben Yole’s stable after competing at the Hobart meeting.

Tasmania’s leading reinswoman last season, Miller has suffered a broken hip, a dislocated hip and an eye injury.

Crossland received a broken collarbone and facial injuries, while the other three passengers escaped with minor concerns.

Sadly two horses died instantly, with another pair being euthanised.

Police were alerted to the accident around 2am as one of the passenger’s iPhone had a crash detection feature.

“Unfortunately, we can confirm that some our team were involved in a serious accident last night,” Yole wrote on social media.

“We have had a lot of people reaching out offering support and we would just like to thank you and ask that at this time we all have some space to navigate our way through.

“We will update as updates become available.”
