PREMIER horsewoman Emma Stewart is confident of reversing the result of last month’s Victoria Derby when she heads to Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night.
Stewart has four runner engaged in New South Wales’ Blue Riband, with highly-rated colt, Poster Boy, heading the crew.
Boasting 10 wins and three seconds from 14 starts, Poster Boy is the $3.80 second elect behind his Victorian conqueror, Colt Thirty One, which is at $2 on TAB Fixed Odds.
The son of Somebeachsomewhere has drawn barrier four, but moves into three with the removal of the emergency.
Colt Thirty One is expected to set the pace after receiving the coveted pole.
Poster Boy, along with his stablemate, Maraetai, and Colt Thirty One dominated last weekend’s Derby qualifiers.
On the third line of betting at $7.50, Maraetai has drawn five, with Stewart’s remaining pair – Major Times and Tam Major – to come from two and 10.
Major Times is listed at $8.50, giving Stewart three of the four favourites in the Group One.
“All four of our stable runners have pulled up great from the heats,” Stewart said. “I couldn’t be happier with them.
“They are all capable of winning under the right conditions, but Poster Boy is our best hope.
“Hopefully one of them will be heading to the winners’ stall after the race.”
