Disqualification part two
February 15, 2018 Paul Courts

FOLLOWING yesterday’s disqualification of Taihape Sunset from the Bakers Earthmoving Windmill heat at Dubbo, stewards have subsequently disqualified the gelding from the Final.
Stewards received notice triamcinolone acetonide had been detected in the blood sample taken from Taihape Sunset following its win in Dubbo last November 15.
As such, trainer Amanda Turnbull has been stood down for three months for Rule 190 (1), (2) & (4) for presenting Taihape Sunset to race not free of a prohibited substance.
Taihape Sunset’s removal from the Final related to AHHR 195A. (1): This rule is to apply to any race or series of races which the Controlling Body stipulates in the Conditions of Entry that it shall apply to; such a race or races being a qualifying race for some other race.
Stewards have amended the placings, with Siotada noted as the winner of the Final.
Turnbull was advised of her right to appeal this decision.
