IN WHAT is becoming a cliché, Emma Stewart has dominated another night of Breeders’ Crown qualifiers.

Having won seven of the eight heats for two and three-year-old pacers earlier this month, Stewart turned her attention to tonight’s semis in Melton.

Eight qualifiers were conducted, with Stewart winning seven.

As for the semi Stewart didn’t win, she finished second with Kingman!

Stewart’s dominance of the futurity is nothing short of incredible, for example, last season she won 10 of the 13 heats for two and three-year-old pacers and seven semis.

In 2021 Stewart captured eight of 13 heats and five of eight semis.

It was a similar case in 2020 as Stewart and her partner Clayton Tonkin secured 10 of the 13 heats and six of the eight semis!

A year earlier, Stewart notched wins in seven of the nine heats and five of the eight semis.

If that isn’t impressive enough, Stewart won all nine heats in 2018 before securing six of the eight semis.

Back to tonight’s effort and Stewart’s haul will see her gear up 17 finalists next week.

“It has been an amazing night for the team and is the result of a lot of hard work,” Stewart said. “I couldn’t be happier with the way they all went.

“We are especially happy for our owners as these are the kind of races any owner wants to be a part of, so it is always great when we can work towards delivering that.

“Hopefully we will have a bit of luck in the Finals as well.”

For the record, Stewart’s winners were Very Pretty, Joyful, Timmy Rictor, Perfect Class, Oliver Dan, Draw A Dream and Major Delight.

Undefeated from four starts, Very Pretty will clash with Draw A Dream in the Final, with the latter boasting a perfect record from six outings.

HOOFNOTE: Stewart also won tonight’s Breeders’ Crown Championship for four-year-old mares with Fiamma, giving the premier trainer eight wins for the card.
