A HANDY draw has Bella Clare well positioned to sustain her unbeaten status at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night.
Successful upon debut in Penrith last week, the Michael Xuereb-trained filly will tackle the Kevin and Kay Seymour Evolution Final in which she will begin from barrier two.
Thrilled with the youngster’s progress since the heat, Xuereb expects Bella Clare to improve her maiden trip to the races.
“She pulled up fine from her run in the heat and has been working well during the week,” Xuereb said. “She is still a bit green but is learning how to race and I’m pleased with her.
“It’s a good draw and hopefully can make the most of it.”
Following this weekend’s engagement Xuereb will continue to find suitable races for the daughter of Art Major, which he believes can make her way through the grades.
“She has always shown promise, but had to have an operation on a knee so she was turned out for a break,” Xuereb said.
“The extra time may have paid dividends as she has matured.
“She’s not a big filly but has filled out nicely and should be able to make her way through the grades on what she has shown so far.”
