FORMER stars, leading sires and current topliners have links to the upcoming Australian Pacing Gold Brisbane Sale.

With 41 yearlings to pass through the Sales’ ring on January 26, the youngsters are by stallions such as Always B Miki, American Ideal, Art Major, Betting Line, Captaintreacherous, Hurrikane Kingcole, Somebeachsomewhere and Western Terror to name a handful.

As for the matrons, the likes of successful race mares Forever Gold, Courageous Annie, Catwalk Beauty, October Original, Paris Pepperell, Pacific Jaccka, Dont Break My Ark, Victree Bonita, Miss Ruby Tuesday, Our Red Sky Night and Hereiam are represented.

Then there are the siblings…half sisters, brothers and so on to a range of top performers.

One colt expected to be the Sales’ topper is by American Ideal from Charm Personified, which died while delivering a colt – also by American Ideal – earlier this season.

Known at this stage as Lot 36, the colt is a half-brother to multiple feature winner Colt Thirty One, which boasts 35 wins and 12 placings from 56 starts for earnings of $825,756.

Overall, the sale breaks down to 23 colts and 18 fillies, which are eligible for main events such as the Qbred, New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge, Vicbred, Bathurst Gold Crown and Breeders’ Crown.

Naturally they are also in the running for the $100,000 Sales Race restricted to yearlings which have been catalogued.

Non Sale entries are ineligible to contest the Brisbane Sales Race, as are horses purchased at any of APG’s Melbourne, Sydney or Perth Sales, regardless of whether those purchases are made by Queensland owners or are trained in the Sunshine State.
