EXCITING youngster Rockinwithattitude will be given the opportunity to join an elite sorority.

Winner of tonight’s New South Wales Trotters’ Oaks at Club Menangle, Rockinwithattitude will return to the world class venue for next weekend’s Trotters’ Derby.

As such the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle will attempt to become the fourth filly to capture the pair of Blue Ribands since the Oaks was added to the calendar in 1999.

Jauriol in 2005, Right Interest in 2006 and Habibti in 2013 are the only members of the ‘fairer sex’ to achieve the feat.

Trainer David Miles revealed his plans for the three-year-old, which includes a Queensland campaign, after Rockinwithattitude’s latest Group One success.

“She’ll be back at Menangle next Saturday night for the Derby,” Miles said. “After that we are looking to take her to Queensland for the new race for trotters in early July.

“It’s for three and four-year-old trotters, but with a preferential draw on age and sex it means she will draw very well.

“There is also the Queensland Oaks a week later and the Derby a week after that which makes the trip very appealing.”

Rockinwithattitude certainly provided prospective rivals something to think about with her latest performance.

First-up for five months, the squaregaiter worked to the lead from barrier nine as early front runner, Shesawish, was eased to take a trail.

Proving too slick along the home straight, Rockinwithattitude scored by a metre-and-a-half from Shesawish, with Aldebaran Miley four-and-a-half metres away third.

Rating 2:01.6 over 2300 metres, Rockinwithattitude took her record to 10 wins and three placings from 15 starts for earnings of $170,875.

“I’m very happy with the way she went tonight,” Miles said. “She was in need of the run being first-up for a long time, but still hit the line well.

“She’ll definitely gain a lot of benefit from tonight and be better again next week.”
