FORMER Victorian Keep On Rocking has continued his sensational American form.

Recently becoming Australia’s fastest pacer, Keep On Rocking completed a hat-trick when triumphant at Dover Downs this morning.

Driven by Pat Berry, the son of Rocknroll Hanover led throughout from barrier six to score from New Zealand-bred pacer Duplicated and Tiger Thomson.

Never fully extended, Keep On Rocking stopped the clock in 1:49.4 for ex-patriot Aussie horseman, Chris Scicluna.

Three weeks ago Keep On Rocking became the quickest Australian-bred pacer when he covered the mile in 1:48.2, slashing half a second from Anything For Love’s record.

Anything For Love, which has since been sold to American interests, set his mark at Tabcorp Park Menangle on February 17, 2018.

Only four southern hemisphere pacers – all Kiwis – have gone quicker than Keep On Rocking.

My Field Marshal heads the list with his 1:46.9 win in last season’s Miracle Mile, followed by Have Faith In Me (1:47.5), Adore Me (1:47.7) and Nike Franco 1:48.

It’s interesting to note the three fastest times were all registered at Menangle.

Jilliby Kung Fu and Majordan are the only other Australian-bred pacers to better 1:49, which they also did at Menangle!

Pleased with the gelding’s performances, Scicluna believes Keep On Rocking can make his way into some of the majors by the end of the year.

“I told Pat to go out there and drive him like he is the best horse in the race as he had been working the house down,” Scicluna said. “Pat said he could have gone quicker if needed.

“He hasn’t stopped improving since he got here and I will be looking to stake him in some of the decent races later on.”
