EX-PATRIOT horseman Chris Scicluna is enjoying a high rate of success with some recent Australian purchases.
Returning home last year on a working holiday, Scicluna bought numerous pacers with another Keep On Rocking scoring at Dover Downs during the weekend.
Driven by Pat Berry, the son of Rocknroll Hanover stopped the clock in a personal best 1:52.
“That was his second start for me and he’d improved quite a bit between runs,” Scicluna said. “I knew he’d take a lot of beating and Pat drove him well.
“That was in a $26,000 Open and he should be able to win a few more.
“As they say back in Australia ‘ I’ll just keep him poking along’.
“He was recommended to me by Kevin and Alison Chilsholm, and given what he has shown so far, he will certainly pay his way.”
Scicluna’s buys include former Aussies Ella Michelle and Mar Nien and Kiwi mare, Bontz, which have all made their way into the winners’ circle.
Rounding out the ‘Down Under’ squad is Hoo Nien, which is progressing nicely according to Scicluna.
“Hoo Nien had a few setbacks, but he is working great at the moment and is ready to win,” Scicluna said.
