FRESH from her track record performance a fortnight ago, Ima Ginger Rogers is primed to repeat the dose in Launceston tomorrow night.

Driven by Ricky Duggan, Ima Ginger Rogers proved too slick in a 1680-metre stand, scoring in 2:00.7 after beginning from four.

This time around the Steven Davis-trained mare is back to mobile conditions, where she has drawn to lead from the pole.

“I couldn’t be happier with her,” Davis said. “She hasn’t gone backwards since the run that’s for sure.

“It’s a perfect draw for her and hopefully she will lead from there and be hard to beat.

“Her work has been great and she will be in it for a long way.”

Confident the daughter of Sportswriter can continue to make her way through the grades, Davis has set his sights on some of the features during summer as a long term plan.

“I was up and down whether to breed from her this season, but that will wait until next year and I will have a look at the mares’ races as they come along,” Davis said. “I may even throw her in a country cup.

“She is good from the stand and does run the trip and if drew well in a race like the Devonport Cup she would be right in the finish.”
