CONNECTIONS of in-form pacer Glenferrie Hood hope history can repeat itself at Albion Park tonight.

In what will be the gelding’s final outing of 2018, Glenferrie Hood is engaged in the Kevin and Kay Seymour Pace for trainer Wayne Graham.

Although drawn the outside of the back row, Glenferrie Hood is a $5 second favourite with TAB Fixed Odds.

Rewind the calendar 12 months and Glenferrie Hood was triumphant in his last start of 2017.

He then finished third in his first appearance of 2018 before winning four of his next five starts!

“I would be nice if he can do it again,” Graham said. “He won this time last year and goes into this race with the right form, so he is a solid chance.

“The draw makes it tough as he is going to have to do some work at some stage.

“With a bit of luck he can get close to the pace early as they all pretty much run home in low 55 last halves these days which makes it hard for those to come from behind.”

Citing Bodhi Tree as the one to beat, Graham also rates Ohoka Punter as a major threat.

To begin from barrier four, Bodhi Tree is the $2.70 TAB favourite, with Ohoka Punter on the third tier at $5.50.

“Bodhi Tree has the advantage of the draw,” Graham said. “Ohoka Punter is out the back with us, but is racing very consistently.

“It’s quite an even field overall so it will come down to who gets the right run.”
