MILDURA continues to be a happy hunting ground for South Australians.
While visiting ‘Crow Eaters’ have always been a regular fixture at the track, SA trainers and drivers have been utilising the venue in greater numbers this season.
Yesterday’s meeting again attracted numerous interstate raiders, who made their way into the winners’ circle after seven of the 11 races.
Popular reinsman Wayne Hill led the way with a treble, while Aaron Bain and Ken Rogers combined for a double.
“It certainly made for a worthy trip,” Hill said. “Things have been going pretty good there and hopefully it can continue to be the case moving forward.
“Having Mildura there as that extra option great.”
Hill joined forces with local horseman Frank Mercieca for a pair of winners – Our Amazing Grace and La Safron – while also piloting Monash to victory for David Vozlic.
Thanks to his treble, Hill also extended his lead in the club’s premiership.
With 30 wins to his credit, Hill is nine clear of fellow SA driver Jayden Brewin, who was also successful during the afternoon with She Envy.
Trained by Brewin’s father, Justin, the daughter of Rocknroll Heaven boasts four wins and two placings from her last six starts.
