Happy to keep flying under the radar

WITH his quality filly Star To Fall seemingly overlooked by punters and rivals alike, trainer Craig Turnbull stated he is happy for the youngster to “keep flying under the radar”.

Boasting three wins from four starts, Star To Fall continues to be ‘overs’ in betting markets as highlighted again in Bendigo last night.

Contesting an Australian Pacing Gold Vicbred Super Series heat, the daughter of Always B Miki outclassed her rivals as an $11 shot.

Star To Fall’s shortest starting price was $8 upon debut…which she also won!

“I’m not sure why she keeps paying as much as she does given her record,” Turnbull said. “It doesn’t make a difference to us, or her, and we’re happy to be poking along quietly and keep flying under the radar.”

With Ellen Tormey holding the reins, Star To Fall was settled two-back along the pegs from barrier 10 as Captain Molly led from gate three.

Brilliantly weaved through traffic around the home turn, Star To Fall unleashed a scintillating sprint to score by two-and-a-half metres from the pacemaker.

Hilltop Blossom boxed on to be five metres away third.

“I’m very happy with that run,” Turnbull said. “The speed was on most of the way, which really suits her.

“The quicker they go the better as she can come with her lethal turn of foot.”

Rating 1:56.1 over 2150 metres, the two-year-old’s time was 1.3 seconds quicker than Arrhythmia in the following heat.

Trained by Emma Stewart and driven by Ryan Sanderson, Arrhythmia extended her perfect record to five as Ginger Ella and Conciliate filled the placings.

Stewart and Sanderson completed a double when Pre Eminant led home stable trifecta in 1:57.7.
