Is he the best pacer in the world?

HE’S been hailed as the best pacer in the southern hemisphere for several years.

Now the mighty Leap To Fame can lay claim to be one of the best horses the world has seen following his heart-stopping win in tonight’s $1million Garrards Miracle Mile at Club Menangle.

He held the best horses in the land at bay and scored by a head from fellow Queenslander The Janitor, with defending Miracle Mile champion Don Hugo a plucky third, just ahead of another champion Swayzee, which tried to lead all the way.

The winner rated 1:49 but it was about so much more than the time as the champion nicknamed ‘Larry’ scored one of his greatest victories.

Leap To Fame’s co-owner Kevin Seymour said he never doubted his champion but admitted he was still gobsmacked by the sensational win, which he rated among the best of the seven-year-old’s 66 wins.

Dixon agreed: “I really never thought I would have a horse good enough to contest all these great races,” said a delighted Dixon as Leap To Fame returned to the cheers of a massive Menangle crowd.

“He’s simply amazing. I wasn’t worried he’d had such a hard run. I am always looking to see how he feels. And if he feels OK, well, we just keep on going.

“He felt good in the warm-up so I knew he was ready to run a great race.his is pretty much a dream come true.

]“It’s just so rewarding to be a part of this horse. He is a freak. And he just keeps doing it for us.”

Seymour said Leap To Fame continued to surprise him.

“Even though we knew he has untold ability, we’re just dumb-founded that he can produce results like he continues to do,” said Seymour. “I hope this horse gets all the plaudits he deserves when we look at the history of harness racing.

“My wife Kay and I get the greatest thrill you could ever imagine out of racing him.

“Being involved with him is as exciting as any sport in the world could possibly be. And yes, this is as good as it gets.”

Leap To Fame has now won two Miracle Miles and finished runner-up to Don Hugo in 2025 and will forever go down as one of the greatest we’ve seen at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
