AN EASY few days before embarking on another feature race campaign.

That’s what is in store for classy mare Aleppo Jewel following her success at Tabcorp Park Melton tonight.

Triumphant in the Group Two Matriarch Trot, Aleppo Jewel’s next target is the rich Vicbred Super Series.

Heats of the futurity are scheduled to be conducted later this month with the $100,000 Final programmed for July 5.

“She will have a few easy days, but not much more as she puts on the weight pretty quickly,” trainer Kerryn Manning said.

“She’s racing really well at the moment which is good going into the Vicbred in a few weeks.”

With Manning holding the reins during her latest victory, Aleppo Jewel began quickly from the pole to gain the run of the race behind Amour De Frere which led from gate six.

Angled into the passing lane during the latter stages the daughter of Angus Hall sprinted to a head win from Amour De Frere.

Parisian Amore, a stablemate of the runner-up, was 10 metres away third.

“She got a good run through and was good enough to make the most of it,” Manning said. “She has taken a while to come to hand, which is the breed and her owner understands that, but I’m happy with her form.”

Owned by Wayne Schulze, the four-year-old took her record to seven wins and nine placings from 28 starts by rating 2:00.5 over 2240 metres.
