Just like Santa, East has her own list!

IT APPEARS Father Christmas isn’t the only one with a list at this time of the year.

Noting all those who have been naughty or nice, Santa checks it twice before making his round on Christmas Eve.

Just like Saint Nick, popular trainer Rebecca East has a list of her own, with the difference being East’s consists of last start winners!

Registering a double in Melton four days earlier, East completed a treble in Mount Gambier last night.

East contested four races on the card, with her haul including a quinella in the opening event, along with a third and fourth in the last.

Based in Heywood, Victoria, East’s regular trips across the border have resulted in her claiming Mount Gambier’s Trainers’ Premiership for the third time.

East won 24 races at the venue to be 10 clear of local trainer Barry Finnis.

With 50 placings also to her credit, East’s team have finished in the top three at a strike rate of 66.36 per cent.

“It was pretty good last night,” East said. “I was confident with a couple of them, they just needed some luck from the draws and things went their way.

“I class Mount Gambier as my home track even though it is in South Australia.

“I like supporting the club as they do a good job, have a hardworking committee and it’s always a nicely run meeting.

“The past week has been very rewarding for the hard work and travel and to have five last start winners in the stable is a great feeling.”
