LIFE in Tasmania is about to get harder for talented filly Mornings.
Thriving since arriving on the Apple Isle, the daughter of Dawn Ofa New Day is unbeaten from five starts for trainer Ben Yole.
Engaged in a Youngbloods Challenge heat in Hobart today, Mornings is vulnerable as she steps up in class according to the record-breaking horseman.
To be driven by Samantha Gangell, the three-year-old has drawn barrier six against her older, more experienced rivals.
“It is a big step up in class, but she’s going super and should be right,” Yole said. “It will be a test for her as it’s the toughest field since she got here.
“Going on how well she has been racing, and her work which has improved since her win a few weeks ago, she will go very well.”
Hopeful Morning can continue to improve as the season progresses, Yole has set his sights on the Tasmania Oaks, which is scheduled to be conducted on April 5.
“I will see how she comes through today, but she will go for a break soon,” Yole said. “Hopefully next time in she will continue to improve and step up to the Oaks.”
