CONNECTIONS of handy pacer Mucho Macho Man are hoping for better luck when he returns to Albion Park on Saturday night.
Racing in sensational form, Mucho Macho Man won six consecutive starts at Redcliffe before competing at Albion Park last weekend.
To trainer Wayne Graeme’s dismay, however, the son of Bettors Delight had nothing go his way from his inside of the second row draw.
“He didn’t get much of a run,” Graham said. “He didn’t come out of the gate well and got a little bit funny after that.
“Luck went against him and he was out of race after first couple of hundred metres.”
This time around Mucho Macho Man will begin from barrier five, which has given Graham’s confident a slight lift.
“Hopefully he will be able to work forward from that draw,” Graham said. “He is feeling enormous within himself, so I’ve got no worries there.
“It will be a lot harder this week though as there’s a couple of handy horses in it.”
With no major plans in mind for the five-year-old, Graham will select suitable targets as they become available.
“For now I will just keep poking him around in town and see how he goes,” Graham said. “This time in he has gained a bit of zip, hopefully he can handle that step on the weekend and beyond.”
