Mixed fortunes
August 11, 2017 Paul Courts

NEW ZEALAND representative Mark Purdon has received a mixture of luck and misery in the second round draws of the World Driving Championship.
The series begins in Canada tomorrow, with Australia’s Shane Graham hopeful of a good start in his bid for the title after gaining some handy drives.
Like his Aussie rival, Purdon has a chance to gain maximum points during the second night, which is scheduled to be conducted at Mohawk on Monday.
Purdon’s first drive on the card – Vics Royal Lady – will begin from barrier two, before the champion horseman partners On Golden Ponder from the pole.
Fortune voids the Kiwi in the third and fourth races, with Purdon’s pair to begin from 11 and nine.
After the Mohawk, the drivers will head to Georgian Downs on Tuesday before the action switched to Trois-Rivières on Wednesday.
