ALTHOUGH she is unsure who will be counting the funds, premier trainer Emma Stewart is positive Australian Pacing Gold’s mouth-watering bonuses will be collected this weekend.

On top of the $400,000 up for grabs in the two-year-old Finals, APG is offering $250,000 bonuses if the eligible winners beat the benchmark time at Club Menangle on Saturday night.

The cash is available for both the fillies’ and colts/geldings’ deciders.

The successful filly needs to score in 1:52.1 or better, while the ‘boys’ champion is required to lower the 1:51.3 standard.

Stewart has two runners in the fillies’ division and three in the colts/geldings’ Final.

“I’d say it is a pretty big chance at least one bonus, if not both, will go off on Saturday night,” Stewart said.

“The times are certainly achievable and the quality of the fields are high enough to suggest the winner, or winners, will have to run those times.

“I’d like to think one of our stable runners will do it, but I’m sure everyone in the race is thinking the same thing.”

Second and third in a fillies’ heat a fortnight ago, Eureka Jo and Decree Of Force will improve on their debut appearance according to Stewart.

“They will both be better for the run, but they will need to be,” Stewart said.

“Not only will the Final be stronger again, but they have drawn barriers 10 and 12 which makes it tough.”

Stewart will then be represented by Prioritise, Stormryder and War Dan Buddy.

Stormryder and War Dan Buddy won their qualifiers, with Prioritise runner-up behind the latter.

Prioritise has fared best in barrier two, with Stormryder drawn five and War Dan Buddy to come from gate six.

“They are all going well and head into this in perfect condition,” Stewart said.

“There is some strong form in the race and it’s pretty easy to assume the winner will be taking home the bonus.”
