BEING the nation’s premier reinswoman hasn’t netted Dani Hill any favours at Globe Derby on Saturday night.
Last month Hill domination the Australian Female Drivers’ Championship in Tasmania to claim the inaugural title as the Queen of the Paceway!
Representing South Australia, Hill won five of the nine heats, while also finishing with a half-head second and a third.
While fortune smiled upon her during her visit to the Apple Isle, Hill has been void of luck in this weekend’s Reinswomen’s Invitational at her home track.
A host of talented drivers will contest the six-race series, with Hill leading the local squad against the interstate raiders.
“I’m really looking forward to the night, it should be fun,” Hill said. “A great bunch of women are coming over, quite a few of whom I have never met.
“A lot of them are concession drivers, so I do feel a bit like the old matron though!”
Hill will be relying on that experience after receiving awkward draws in five of the six heats. She doesn’t have a drive in the other!
“The draws aren’t as good as I would like, but I am happy with the horses I’m driving,” Hill said. “Each is going along well enough, so with a bit of luck, I might at least enjoy some success during the night.”
