LAST night’s Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series heats were like déjà vu all over again!
Having dominated the two-year-old qualifiers the previous evening, record-breaking horsewoman Emma Stewart repeated the dose in the three-year-old category.
Just to recap, Stewart won five heats with her two-year-olds, with her results including two quinellas.
Overall, Stewart qualified 10 runners – from 10 starters – for the semi-finals.
As for her three-year-old squad, Stewart had 16 representatives, with 12 progressing to the next round.
Nine heats were conducted throughout the program with Stewart preparing an incredible seven winners.
Of the two qualifiers she didn’t win, Stewart’s runners finished second and third.
Major Times kick-started proceedings in the opening event when proving too good with Chris Alford in the cart.
Masterkova finished third in the following heat before Stewart won the next five heats with Nostra Beach, Ride High, Liftntorque, Nostra Villa and Konan.
Runner-up with Amendment Thirteen, Stewart was again in the winners’ circle thanks to Speak No Evil.
Four-year-olds will take centre stage at Ballarat tomorrow night, with Stewart set to head to her local track with 11 runners in six heats.
Stewart will again have numerous favourites, including last season’s champion Tell Me Tales.
Winner of her six starts for the term, the daughter of Tell All will begin from the outside of the second row.
In total, Stewart has 37 Vicbred entries, which eclipses her 27 across the three age groups last season, where she qualified 23 for the semi-finals.
She already has 22 semi-finalists this time around, with the four-year-old yet to race!
The record-breaking horsewomen won five semis in 2017, while also preparing seven placegetters, including two quinellas.
Stewart’s semi-finalists went on to win three Group One Finals, with her haul including a quinella and a trifecta.
During the corresponding semi-final meeting in 2016, Stewart won five semis before capturing three Finals the following week.
