NATIONAL Harness Racing Weekly journalist Paul Courts has been honoured by being named the recipient of the prestigious “Bob Cain Memorial Distinguished Service Award” by the Victorian Harness Racing Media Association for season 2017/18 at Tabcorp Park, Melton last Saturday and by doing so, has joined a number of Victorian Harness Racing Media who have been previous winners.

Courts was taken under the wing of Bob Cain when he first showed an interest in harness racing journalism and has progressed over the years to be one (if not) the leading harness racing journalist in the state of Victoria.

He has been involved in various roles including Victorian editor of Harness Racing Weekly and his own web-site www.harnessnews.com.au which joined forces with www.nationaltrotguide.com.au last year.

Having been close to the entire Cain family, Paul described the moment as “meaning more than anything else” to him.

Previous winners have been: Gordon Lockman, John Peck, Max Agnew, Peter Wharton, Graeme Prosser, Gus Underwood, Adam Hamilton, Dan Mielicki, Rob Auber and myself.
