Popular reinswoman equals personal best
POPULAR reinswoman Samantha Pascoe equalled a personal best yesterday.
On target to enjoy her most successful season, Pascoe registered a winning quartet in Gawler.
It’s the fourth time, and second this year, Pascoe has achieved the feat.
“I felt like I had a good book of drives going into the meeting,” Pascoe said. “With racing though it can go either way, but thankfully things panned out well.
“I’ve driven four winners at a meeting four times now, but just can’t seem to get that fifth win.
“A couple of times, including yesterday, I have gone close by finishing second as well, including a short half-head at Globe Derby.”
Pascoe kick-started proceedings by guiding Joonior Brown to a narrow victory from Kahina and Franco Landry.
Also trained and owned by Pascoe, the son of Mach Three covered the mile in 1:58.3.
“He has been so consistent this time in, with three wins, including his last two starts, and three placings from his last 10 trips to the races,” Pascoe said.
Pascoe then finished the afternoon strongly by capturing the final three events with Im Themightylucy, Madame Kelly and Diamond Mounted.
Madame Kelly and Diamond Mounted are trained by Robbie Caton, who is enjoying a stellar season with his team.
“Robbie’s were favourites and Lucy was right in the market, so I was pretty confident with the three,” Pascoe said. “They still had to get out there and get the job done, which thankfully they managed to do.”
