VICTORIA’S premier trainer and driver combined to dominate yesterday’s proceedings.
Registering a double at Maryborough during the afternoon, Emma Stewart and Chris Alford then completed a quartet at Ballarat last night.
“It was a great day for the stable and our owners,” Stewart said. “We were confident each had a winning chance and it was great to see them come home with a win.”
Speak No Evil got the ball rolling when she led throughout to account for Machavelli and Maxines Delight in 2:00.7 over 2190 metres.
“She’s a nice filly, which is still learning what it’s all about,” Stewart said. “She’s had four starts, with her form reading, eight, one, eight one, so hopefully she can break that pattern and win again next time around.”
Striking Beauty completed the early double when she caused a minor upset to score from the favourite, Rock N Roll Chapel, in a slick 1:54.7 over 1690 metres.
A few hours later Stewart and Alford were cutting a regular path to the Ballarat winners’ circle thanks to Amendment Thirteen, Our Celebrity, Best Of Beauty and Miss Graceland.
Best Of Beauty is a half-brother to Striking Beauty, with the pair from Stewart’s former Group One winner, Beauty Secret.
“Beauty Secret was a great mare at the track and is now doing the same at stud,” Stewart said. “She’s had three foals for the winners.”
