Primed to extend undefeated record

FORMER New Zealand mare Town Echo is expected to have little trouble maintaining her perfect Australian record despite a tough draw during the weekend.

Sent across the Tasman to join Jack Trainor’s stable in March, Town Echo is unbeaten from four starts – all at Club Menangle.

Set to return to the world class venue on Saturday night, the daughter of Art Major will begin from the outside of the front row over a mile.

Despite the early obstacle Trainor is positive Town Echo can extend her winning sequence.

“She hasn’t set a foot wrong since she got here and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon,” Trainor said.

“Her work this week has been as good as ever and she’s in perfect condition.

“Can’t say the same about the draw, but she’s got the class to overcome it.

“She’s still on the way up through the grades, but I believe she can make it to open company mares’ races.”

Trainor will also be represented by B K Swy, which will begin from barrier eight.

“You can put a line through her last start as I probably didn’t drive her as well as I could have,” Trainor said. “The start before she came home really well and that’s the form I expect from her on the weekend.

“Again, the draw isn’t ideal, but she’s proven she’s a class mare.”
