HANDY youngster No Win No Feed will begin her quest for a second Group One at Tabcorp Park Menangle today.
Winner of the Bathurst Gold Bracelet last April, No Win No Feed will tackle a New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge heat for trainer Craig Cross.
Should all according to plan the Australian Pacing Gold purchase will then contest a semi-final before heading into the $150,000 decider in Menangle on June 30.
No Win No Feed finished third in a Newcastle-based heat last week when first-up for eight weeks.
Pleased with the filly’s performance Cross expects No Win No Feed to improve for her pending assingment.
“That run did her the world of good,” Cross said. “She had a nice freshen-up after the Golden Easter Egg in early April and has been working up well.
“She should be better again when she steps out at Menangle today.”
To be driven by Luke McCarthy, the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance is a $2.50 TAB Fixed Odds favourite from barrier six, with Victorian raider Keayang Liberty considered the main danger.
Prepared by prominent horsewoman Marg Lee, the three-year-old is at $2.70 from gate five.
“Keayang Liberty has shown some good form and is the main danger,” Cross said. “Plus No Win No Feed is likely to be in the ‘death seat’ which will make it a lot tougher.”
