CLASSY young trotter Always Ready is primed to live up to his name as he aims to continue his dominance of his age group features on Sunday.
Winner of the Tatlow Memorial and Vicbred Super Series, Always Ready is poised to tackle the prestigious Redwood Classic at Maryborough.
Thrilled with the two-year-old’s progress since his Group One win at Melton on July 6, trainer Anton Golino has no doubt Always Ready can overcome his outside of the front row draw.
“He’s done everything we’ve asked of him so far and I don’t see any reason why he can’t get the job done again,” Golino said.
“The draw isn’t the best, but the biggest query is the standing start….hopefully he can get away well enough.
“He’s had a couple of trials, including there last week, and stepped away well. With a bit of luck he will bring his manners on Sunday.
“Two-year-olds in general are a concern, but from a stand it adds that extra question mark to the whole thing.
“Overall, he has been super since the Sires’ and I can’t fault him.”
Always Ready is one of three entrants Golino has in the Group One, with Montpellier drawn the pole and All Cashed Up to come from 11.
“Montpellier has been racing well and is right in it,” Golino said. “All Cashed Up has got a big motor and it wouldn’t surprise me if he upset all of them.”
