HANDY pacer Lookofalegend has an opportunity to join his older sibling on the Group winners list this weekend.

By Bettors Delight from Soky’s Legend, the stallion is a brother to Bit Of A Legend, which captured the Australasian Breeders’ Crown in 2012 and 2013.

While Bit Of A Legend’s victories were at Group One level, Lookofalegend’s pending assignment is in Sunday’s Group Three Hamilton Cup.

The pair are also half-brothers to Group Two winner, London Legend.

Racing in strong form since being transferred to Victorian trainer Emma Stewart, Lookofalegend has drawn awkwardly on the inside of the back row.

Acknowledging the difficult task at hand, Stewart remains confident the stallion can overcome the obstacle “with a touch of luck”.

“He’s been racing really well and goes into this in top condition,” Stewart said. “The draw hasn’t done him any favours, but that’s not to say he can’t still win.

“With a touch of luck in the run he will be right in the finish.”

Elsewhere on the card Stewart has well-bred youngster Nostra Ideal first-up from a spell.

Runner-up in last season’s Vicbred Final, Nostra Ideal is favoured to return on a winning note despite his second row draw.

“His work has been solid and he will be hard to beat,” Stewart said. “Whatever he does on the weekend he will certainly improve on heading into the Derby heats.”
