RISING star Scooterwillrev booked an interstate campaign thanks to his triumph in Hobart last night.

Leading throughout against a handy field of free-for-allers, Scooterwillrev has been aimed at the Four-Year-Old Breeders’ Crown Championship at Tabcorp Park Melton on August 25.

As such the Craig Hayes-trained son of Somebeachsomewhere will be sent across Bass Strait early next week.

Victoria has been a less than friendly destination for Scooterwillrev, with the gelding registering just two placings from seven starts.

Tasmania’s premier pacer of his crop, Scooterwillrev boasts the impressive record of 21 wins and three placings from 25 outings in his home state.

“I’ll be taking him back to Victoria for the Breeders’ Crown,” Hayes said. “He will head over there Tuesday next week and be stabled with John Caldow in Melton.

“Hopefully we can have a bit more luck over there than we have had previously.”

Driven by Rohan Hadley during his latest win, Scooterwillrev led throughout from barrier six to score by five-and-a-half metres from Rocknroll Turbo, with Star Chamber five metres away third.

“He’s going along terrifically,” Hayes said. “I’m very happy with where he is at as we head over to Victoria.

“After that I will most likely give him a break and take aim at the better races during the Christmas/New Year period.”
