Rising star in perfect shape for Cup

SHOULD all go according to plan, rising star Harjeet will assume the role of the Easter Bunny during the weekend.
Racing in sensational form, the son of Rocknroll Hanover is the early favourite to grab the ‘chocolates’ in Saturday night’s Easter Cup in Launceston.
And there is plenty of chocolate to go around in this year’s edition thanks to Tasracing.
Originally listed at $40,000, the Easter Cup was boosted by the governing, which will see the feature carry a purse of $75,000.
Just days before Christmas, Tasracing provided the industry with a welcome gift of across the board stake rises for the second time this season, with the Cup lifted to be the Apple Isle’s richest harness event.
As for Harjeet, the Todd Rattray-trained gelding is expected to extend his winning streak – which sits at five – after drawing six in the handicap.
Successful in his heat, Harjeet is in prime condition according to Rattray.
“I can’t fault him,” Rattray said. “He is form is great, he did everything right in his heat and he’s come through the run perfectly.
“I just worked him this morning and he felt terrific, but you also have to remember he has only had 13 starts and is still on the way up.
“That said, he’ll be in perfect shape for the Cup, but he will need to be as it’s a strong field.”
