HAVING captured another Group One for the season just moments ago, No Win No Feed is officially on holidays.
Upstaging her more fancied rivals in an Australasian Breeders’ Crown Final at Tabcorp Park Melton, No Win No Feed is set to enjoy a well-earned spell.
Saving her best for the ‘big stage’, No Win No Feed’s four wins for the term include three top-shelf events, having also secured the Bathurst Gold Bracelet and New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge Final.
To be given “about three months off” the Craig Cross-trained filly will then be aimed at the recently-announced $1million race in New South Wales.
Funded from a negotiated arrangement between the racing industry and Tabcorp via the introduction of a new bet type Odds and Evens, the series of races across New South Wales culminates with a $1million Final in Menangle on May 31, 2020.
The series begins with heats in Broken Hill on May 3.
“She has done an outstanding job this season,” Cross said. “She’s won the Bathurst Gold Bracelet then the New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge Final and now the Breeders’ Crown.
“You can’t ask much more from her than that.
“She’ll have about three months off now then we’ll get her ready for that new $1million race.”
Driven by Todd McCarthy, No Win No Feed began quickly to lead from barrier six before being eased to take a trail behind Miss Streisand.
With Miss Streisand drifting off the pegs along the back straight, No Win No Fed was pushed through the opening to regain the lead turning for home.
Proving too strong during the latter stages, the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance completed a three-and-a-half metre win from Best Western, with Our Princess Tiffany a half-head away third.
“She had some luck down the back straight, but it was a great drive from Todd,” Cross said.
“She is as tough as nails and was always going to keep finding down the straight.”
Rating 1:56 over 2240 metres as a $43.90 outsider, the Australian Pacing Gold purchase extended her record to six wins and 11 placings from 27 starts for earnings of $284,460.
