CLUB Menangle’s favourite matriarch and Queen of Macarthur, Tanyia Harris, who always looks forward to a Menangle meeting, has an extra incentive this week.

It is rare for Tanyia to miss a Tabcorp Park Menangle meeting, whether mid-week or Saturday.

She has been a true stalwart of Club Menangle and there are many other clubs, societies and community groups in the region who have benefited from her support.

Tanyia never misses the opportunity to cheer for a horse owned by one of her friends or a Club Menangle owner.

One of Tanyia’s favourite horses is her beloved Aztec Bromac (a.k.a. Tex).

The little horse has had a tremendous run under the care of Lucky Lodge Menangle’s dynamic duo, KerryAnn and Robbie Morris.

Although Tex’s racing career is reaching its’ twilight, he continues to provide Tanyia and the Lucky Lodge crew with much pride and pleasure.

Although small in stature, his heart is as big as!

Tanyia seems to like these small horses as she is a partner in a little filly called Yuko, which will race this Saturday night in a heat of the NSW Oaks.

Lucky Lodge gave Yuko the stable name of Tanyia, in recognition of the great lady’s commitment to harness racing and Club Menangle.

Yuko will start at generous odds in Heat 4 on Saturday night. She is currently at a starting price of around $70 and $150 for the final.

The little filly had her first start for Lucky Lodge on February 6 when she won in 1.59.6 at Penrith Paceway.

While probably deserving the long price, the draw at gate 3 will give Tanyia something to cheer.

Robbie Morris has advised ‘Tanyia’s’ owners that while she might be just 14 hands high, she thinks she is 18 hands.

Directors and staff at Club Menangle are unified in wishing Tanyia . . . and Tanyia, every success on Saturday night – they will all be all there cheering her home!
