Team primed to continue winning momentum

FRESH from a treble at Club Menangle with his ever-expanding team earlier this week, Seaton Grima will look to continue the momentum when he returns to the world class venue this weekend.

Seaton was the star of last Tuesday’s program, winning three races as a trainer-driver with his victories coming via Melfield Soryt, Shoreline Dream and Captain Groove.

Third during his first three starts for Grima, Melfield Soryt worked to the lead from barrier 10 on his way to a 1:54.5 triumph from Krusty Krunch and Charlies Ace.

Shoreline Dream then made it two wins from four Grima outings by stopping the clock in 1:52.6 as Down Ward Dog and Kelloshiel filled the placings.

Captain Groove rounded out the trio with a perfect Grima debut, scoring in 1:52.7 to beat Luv The Nitelife and Kiki Meister.

Looking forward, Grima has another strong assembly ready to tackle tomorrow night’s meeting.

In fact, Grima has the early favourite in the opening event on the card – No Notthebuttons.

Thriving since arriving at Grima’s stable, No Notthebuttons has notched three wins and a close second from four starts.

Runner-up last weekend, the son of Art Major is expected to return to the winners’ circle after drawing the pole.

An impressive Wagga winner when first-up from a four-month spell on July 10, Perfect Stranger shapes as the main danger despite his wide draw.

South Seas Rock will then represent the ‘Grima Group’, with the gelding among the leading chances in a wide open race three.

To begin from the pole in the following event, Lou Will has a prime opportunity to complete his third win from nine Grima outings.

Breaking a three-month drought with his Menangle success last weekend, Jaxon Beach shapes as a big threat for Inter Dominion winning trainer Kevin Pizzuto.

Stablemates Saint Crusader and Captain Bart will then clash over 1609 metres, with Grima electing to partner the former.

Leading before failing to flatter when ninth last weekend, Saint Crusader will seek redemption from barrier four.

The son of Courage Under Fire had a win and four seconds from his previous five starts.

Brad Hewitt will take the reins behind Captain Bart from gate seven as the gelding chases his fourth win this campaign.

Classic Angelina rounds out the Grima assault in what shapes as a difficult assignment.

Although drawn favourably in  the pole, Classic Angelina will still need luck against a strong assembly of classy mares in the Stylish Memphis Stakes.

Unplaced during her last four starts, Classic Angelina is among the outsiders, with Lux Aeterna heading betting markets.

Runner-up in the Group One The Golden Girl at Albion Park last week, Lux Aeterna should have little difficulty overcoming barrier eight to trainer-driver Rickie Alchin.
