AT least $7000 was the magic figure attained when the judge called a halt to the 2023 Women Can Team Teal campaign.

Tuesday was the final day of the campaign at Club Menangle . . . and it was deemed a raging success.

Throughout the six-week period, which began on February 1, female reinswomen competed in teal pants to drive awareness of ovarian cancer, all while raising funds from wins recorded across Australia and New Zealand.

Club Menangle proudly contributed $200 for every female driving and training winner at their track, with a total of 35 wins, including three wins that were both trained and driven by female participants.

“It was simply a wonderful result for the Team Teal campaign at Club Menangle,” said Club Menangle CEO Bruce Christison.

“A big congratulations and thank you must be extended to all our female participants who were extraordinary representatives in the teal pants.”

The Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles, hosted by Club Menangle, saw the campaign shine on Australasia’s grandest harness racing stage, with Kate Gath donning the teal pants and steering them to victory in the Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire as well as the Garrards Miracle Mile with Catch A Wave.

On Schweppes Ladies Night, Amanda Turnbull achieved Group One glory in the teal colours as she took out the John Gibson Memorial NSW Oaks Final with Windy Hill Tara.

And at the same meeting she claimed driving honours in the Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational aboard the KerryAnn Morris trained Port Au Prince.

In the training ranks, Harness Racing NSW Team Teal ambassadors Belinda McCarthy and KerryAnn Morris were also notable contributors, with eight and five winners respectively recorded throughout the campaign at the premier track.

Club Menangle is now looking forward to participating in the 2024 WomenCan Team Teal campaign, with further details to be announced closer to the commencement.
