The horse is out there

IF YOU squint just right, you may notice a horse or two!

Despite difficult conditions at The Meadows yesterday, sharp shooter Chris Gooden battle through to capture this remarkable image.

As a multi award-winning photographer, Gooden is no stranger to taking great snaps.

Gooden’s photo is Race 10, which was won by trotting mare, Just For You, in 1:58.2 over a mile.

“The weather was really odd today, it’s not been like that here for a while,” Gooden said. “I would go out to shoot a race and it would be super sunny, then back out for the next race and it would be overcast, windy and snowing.

“It went back and forth all day until the final race. It was like the skies opened and God dumped bucket of snow on us.

“I ran back to my office to grab my other camera and long lens so I could shoot the whole track during the race and came up with this shot as they turned for home.”
