JOINING an elite sorority thanks to her win at Club Menangle just moments ago, star youngster Rockinwithattitude will be given the opportunity to create a slice of history in coming months.

Speaking after the three-year-old became just the fourth filly to complete the New South Wales Trotters’ Oaks/Derby double, trainer David Miles explained his plans to head further north with the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle.

While Queensland’s Blue Ribands are part of squaregaiter’s schedule, Miles has earmarked the inaugural $150,000 The Great Square as Rockinwithattitude’s main mission during her Sunshine State stint.

“We are looking to take her to Queensland for the new race for trotters on July 8,” Miles said.

“It’s for three and four-year-old trotters, but with a preferential draw for age and sex it means she will draw very well.

“She’ll be up against the likes of four-year-olds such as Harry Stamper and Cravache Dor, but if she could lead, she’d give them something hard to chase.

“There is also the Queensland Oaks a week later and the Derby a week after that which makes the trip very appealing.

“She’ll come home no where I’ll just keep her ticking over, maybe even a trial, but I don’t plan on racing her before we head to Queensland.”

As for her latest victory, Rockinwithattitude showed tremendous gate speed to find the lead from barrier five as Gotfeelingsyouknow recovered from an early mistake to occupy the ‘death seat’.

Striding clear along the home straight, Rockinwithattitude completed a five-and-a-half metre win from New Zealand raider, Melsadele.

Gotfeelingsyouknow battled on bravely to be four metres away third.

Rating 2:00.1 over 2300 metres, Rockinwithattitude took her record to 11 wins and three placings from 16 starts for earnings of $211,750.

“What a brilliant run from her,” Miles said. “Once I saw Gotfeelingsyouknow gallop early and then he had to do a bit of work, my confidence grew.

“At the top of the straight I knew I had them covered and was very pleased with the way she got to the line.”

For the record, Jauriol in 2005, Right Interest in 2006 and Habibti in 2013 are the only other members of the ‘fairer sex’ to win the New South Wales Trotters’ Oaks/Derby double since the Oaks was added to the calendar in 1999.
