TONIGHT’S Tabcorp Park Melton program is shaping into another Emma Stewart banquet.
Having dominated proceedings in recent weeks – including a record eight winners at the venue last Friday – Stewart has already captured the first two Group Ones on the card.
On top of that, Stewart’s runners have filled the quinella in both Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series Finals.
“It is a great way to start the night,” Stewart said. “It would be amazing if it continues, but it’s a long night and anything can happen in racing.
“I’m rapt with the winners and the runner-ups, they all did wonderful jobs.”
Kualoa got the ball rolling by outstaying her rivals in the decider for two-year-old fillies.
Driven by Chris Alford, Kualoa occupied the ‘death seat’ on her way to a tough three-metre win from Two Times Bettor. Tangoingwithsierra was three metres away third.
Rating 1:56.6 over 2240 metres, the Australian Pacing Gold eligible youngster stretched her record to an impeccable six wins from seven starts.
“She just hasn’t stopped improving,” Stewart said. “She’s done it tough again tonight, but just kept finding up the straight.”
Also driven by Alford, Tell Me Tales rounded out the early double when she cruised to a 16-metre win from Flying Moth, with Carlas Pixel a half-head away third.
Unbeaten from 11 starts since winning last season’s Vicbred Final, the four-year-old daughter of Tell All rated 1:55 for the 2240-metre trip.
“She has gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months,” Stewart said. “She’s developing into a wonderful mare and there is no reason why she can’t make the transition to open company next season.”
