Tough first-up assignment

JUST as his highly-touted stablemate did last Saturday night, Hi Manameisjeff will attempt to kick-start his campaign on a winning note this weekend.

Trained by Jason Grimson, top performer Swayzee completed an impressive victory at Club Menangle when first-up from a five-month spell.

Unraced since his third in the Inter Dominion at Albion Park on December 16 – won by his younger half-brother Leap To Fame – Swayzee rated 1:52.1 over 2300 metres as Simply Sam and Max Delight filled the placings.

Also poised to compete at the world class venue, Hi Manameisjeff was given a much-needed break after his unplaced effort in the Miracle Mile on March 9.

A Group Two winner for his previous trainer Russell Jack, Hi Manameisjeff reached new heights under Grimson’s guidance, winning nine of his 10 starts leading into the Miracle Mile, including the Group One Allied Express Sprint.

As for his pending assignment, Hi Manameisjeff will tackle the J D Watts Memorial.

To be driven by Jack Callaghan, the son of Art Major has drawn barrier five over a mile, with his main danger, On Deadline, to come from gate three.

Boasting five wins from eight outings this season, On Deadline scored in 1:55.2 over 2300 metres last weekend.
